There has been intense research into the persistent and consistent setbacks to students’ success in their final year of examination and the mass failure in English language subjects for a long time in Nigeria, delving into the intricate causes of the repeated failure.

Regrettably, these factors have contributed to inadequate early childhood English language development among preschoolers and subpar education in elementary, high schools, and colleges, resulting in unfavourable educational achievements and limited job opportunities for these children in well-established industries in the future...

Project's Vision

Speak Right, Read Right initiative was launched in 2012 to create a community of confident communicators where every learner has the opportunity to reach their full potential and educators are equipped with innovative strategies to support the development of effective spoken English skills, leading to improved academic outcomes, enhanced employability, and socioeconomic mobility for all their students.

We are dedicated and passionate about equipping educators and empowering learners in underserved communities to achieve excellence in communication skills, fostering personal growth, and bridging the gap in language proficiency.

Bridging the Gap in Spoken English Skills

The 'Speak Right, Read Right' program is tailored for students aged 6-17, spanning elementary and secondary education levels. This initiative tackles the substantial English language proficiency gap rural schoolchildren face. We acknowledge that robust human capacity, adequate resources, and qualified teacher support are vital for a fulfilling and successful educational experience.

“99% of these students at the primary level pass their English language national examinations at the secondary school level in one sitting and have further enrolled in various universities across Nigeria."

To further enhance this mission, I founded Louis Lucas Publishing an arm dedicated to curriculum development and publishing of books tailored to the needs of rural children. This enables us to provide high-quality educational materials, bridging the gap in resources and empowering teachers to inspire and support their students.
